DarwinBeagleSeasick2Almost from the moment the Beagle first set sail, Darwin was violently seasick and spent the first few weeks of the journey into the Atlantic confined to his cabin and unable to keep food down. It seemed to him he had made an enormous mistake undertaking this voyage. He recovered enough to change his mind and look forward to the adventure, but seasickness continued to plague Darwin for the entire five years of the Beagle’s journey.
